Just great . Thx for this discussion Robert. Peace and love for alls
Fascinating Piece, Robert.
Wow, that was incredible, very strong, loved the deteriorated video look. I’ve missed your videos, but this was well worth the wait. Thanks.
Jesus
The final shot is such a perfect choice. This is one of the more unsettling uses of war footage I’ve seen.
That was really hard to watch. It stirred up way too many emotions for my comfort level. Extremely well done Robert. Bravo.
Ow. Ow. Oh. Audio: vibrated my kidneys somehow. Confused the heck out of me. Video: broke my heart.
Compelling. Thought-provoking. Maddening. Etc, etc, etc…
Keep doing what you’re doing…please, the world needs you:)
Enjoyed, spooky like one of my fave underground bands The Residents. http://www.residents.com/
Took my breath away.
Broke the heart.
Why?
Why?
I just don’t get it.
Why?
Painful and freakly surreal.
I’ve had the misfortune to work with ‘men’ who sit around watching this type of footage for entertainment. Makes me sick to my stomach.
Great work.
disruptive piece.
fascinating murderous wonder.
i just read this article: http://www.juancole.com/2008/06/real-state-of-iraq.html
we’ve fucking destroyed Iraq.
Talk to god about something incredible.
Devastating.
I may be the only person who has commented so far, who has actually been in the military and gone to war. I say may because I don’t know for sure. War is terrible you will get no arguement from me. I have memories from my short time in country that I will take with me to my grave. I have vlogged about it. People ask “why”, People ask “why can’t we just all get along”, People say “if we just left them alone…”, People say “It’s because of God”, People say “It’s because there is no God”, People say “It’s just about oil”, … I could go on.
I have looked in the face of someone who has hated me, just because I was…. me
In colonial times the people who lived in the states were considered terrorist’s. Entire cizilations have been wiped out because their skin was different, or people thought they were imposing their values on them. We have taken land that did not belong to us, because we wanted it, we destroyed over 9 million jews because they were jewish, The Rwandan civil war took the lives of almost a million people, how many people died in “Ethnic Cleansing” in Yugoslavia? How many of us place value on people based on what they believe or don’t believe? Based on where they live or don’t live? Based on the color of their skin or what language they speak? How many of us look upon those who have wealth with envy? How many look at a member of their own family with disgust?
Live and let live is a great ideal, but it’s never practical, who deciedes?
Who is to blame? All of us, everyday.
Why? because…
Is there hope? Yes,
I personaly long for the day we look at each other and see only Earthings…..
So powerful. so moving. so razorlike pain, so unforgiving.
Not sure if to thank you or cry really.
why? because governments need war to exist, companies need war to make money, etc etc. i just watched “lord of war” with nicholas cage. a great movie.
impressive remix.
devastating.
the imagery lingers on… i think to recall having seen it before…probably some news coverage?
i dimly remember it with sound, conversation between the gunners?
it was very disturbing with the clinical, matter of fact like verbally pointing-out.
it is also disturbing to think that so much of the same actions can be bought as video/Wii ect. war games,
and actually beeing enjoyed.
where does a moving image actually move?
the remix serves well as a reminder of the devastating futility of war, and of the actual ambiguous power of imagery.
intense.
Damn
COuldn’t watch it alll the way through though
I am hooked on you
Thanx for visiting moi
Will do the same…
ZuD
I finally got to watch this. I love that you tackle difficult subjects, and troubling images, unabashedly. This was a difficult, disturbing viewing experience for sure - but provocative and unforgettable.
A stark contrast to your previous video. Puts into perspective the argument of video games reflecting real life, and desensitizing our youth.
Very impressive sound work.
This fantastic video is honestly revlogged @ United Vloggers. We really appreciate your work Robert,
Kind Regards,
Michael Schaap
it makes me feel very sad that iam human to, thnx
holy crap
great sound track
I’ve seen footage of the Australians under fire from a friend who was in Iraq. it wasn’t like that though
